Located in Ho Chi Minh city about 125 km south east, Vung Tau (ex-name Tam Thang) is the town of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. It is divided into 12 wards and Long Son district.
Vung Tau has a tropical climate with two seasons. The rainy season starts from May to October and the dry season starts from November to April of the following year.
Vung Tau is the town that has great potentialities such as: maritime ports, petroleum, seafood… Moreover, it has around 150 km of coastline with beautiful beaches, long beaches, gentle, and clean water all year round such as: First Beach, Bai Sau, Bai Dau and Bai Dua (Vung Tau), Long Hai, Ho Coc, Ho Tram (Xuyen Moc), and Con Dao. Associated with the beaches are pristine forests such as Binh Chau - Phuoc Buu with the Binh Chau hot mineral springs, Con Dao National Park with abundant flora and fauna. Especially there are the ruins of the prison system. Ideal natural conditions and rich system of historical and cultural revolution are the tourism resources that Ba Ria - Vung Tau are exploited.
